photograph of the bronze bust of victor hugo made by auguste rodin in 1883 and exhibited at the salon in 1884. Print which was undoubtedly used for various reproductions, sent by the engraver méaulle (author of the famous engravings of victor hugo's drawings for workers of the sea) to one of his colleagues. This bust was sculpted by rodin from drawings he made of the poet in 1883. He also inscribed an original caption: "a poet is a world enclosed in a man".
