This panorama of the royal palace of madrid from the early 19th century shows the great bulk of the palace from the southwest corner, showing half of the façade of the plaza de la armería and the western canvas with the campo del moro gardens. To the right and within the masonry and brick fence that surrounded the city of madrid, you can see the missing royal armory building, burned down in 1884, and the stables, on whose site the almudena cathedral stands today. On the left side you can see the silhouette of the puerta de san vicente and, a little further back, a small temple, the hermitage of san antonio de la florida. Behind the palace looms the principe pio mountain. Object Type: painting. Medium: painting. Collection: Colección del Ministerio de Hacienda de España..
