Hedvig Eleonoras alkov, David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl

Hedvig eleonora's state bedroom, also called hedvig eleonora's alcove, at drottningholm palace. In 1668, the decoration of hedvig eleonora's alcove began. Court carpenter lukas maylandt created the richly decorated moldings and door frames. In the years 1671-1672, he executed the floor, which consists of six different types of wood. Burchard precht, nicolaes millich and carlo carove were engaged for the artistic decoration of the room, among others, who were responsible for the sculptural works, while david klöcker ehrenstrahl painted ceilings and wall fields. Date: before 1966.
