Historical commentary: madame jules françois dietz, born marie zoe or marizika paléologue (1854 - 1944), is the sister of the diplomat and writer maurice paléologue and friend of ary renan's family. Her husband, jules françois dietz, is a lawyer at the paris court of appeal, professor at the free school of political sciences, editor-in-chief of the newspaper le parlement, of the journal des débats. Knight of the legion of honor in 1891, he also wrote poetry.
