Washington (july 6, 2009) a 32-lb cannon recovered from the wreck of the confederate sloop-of-war css alabama is seen at the naval history and heritage command laboratory warehouse. Alabama was built for the confederate states navy and served as a commerce raider, attacking union merchant and naval ships during the civil war.
