Bergedorfer Bahnhof in Hamburg 1842

Ceremonial opening of the bergedorf train station in hamburg in 1842, coloured engraving by wilhelm heuer. The station was located at what is now deichtorplatz in hamburg and was later expanded to become the berlin train station after the railway line was extended. The picture already shows the station's (telegraph) towers, which were later added to, as well as the tower of st. Jacobi in the background, the johanniskloster on klosterwall and the altmannhöhe, which was later demolished, and to the right of it the church tower of the trinity church of st. George. Date: 1842.
