entrance to balzac's house at 24, rue berton in passy, 16th arrondissement. Urban landscape, dusk, architecture, people. Facade, two-story house, garden, low wall, courtyard, rustic gate, windows, balcony, paved street, bollards. Child, woman and man in period costume. Historical commentary:
former names of berton street: basse? (1731), roches (1773), bleaching (1793) and roc (from 1812 to 1865). The gate marker installed in 1731 is used to demarcate the districts of passy and auteuil. Balzac lived in this residence from 1841 to 1847 which also gives 47 rue raynouard (rue haute or basse?), current entrance to the museum.
