The Pont-Neuf and the City of Paris 1832, Giuseppe Canella

This painting is of historical and iconographic interest relative to paris in 1832. On the pont-neuf we can still see the small semicircular shops built by soufflot in 1775; they would disappear under the second empire. On the quai de l'horloge, before the conciergerie, we can see buildings that would be absorbed by the expansions of the palais de justice. The "bains du pont-neuf" occupy the tip of the island. Object Type: painting. Genre: cityscape. Date: 1832. Dimensions: height: 126 cm (49.6 in) ; width: 152 cm (59.8 in) ; depth: 9 cm (3.5 in). Collection: Musée Carnavalet.
