First Government House, Auckland, Edward Ashworth

First Government House, Auckland, Edward Ashworth

The first government house in auckland. Hobson moved in during march 1841. The building burned down in 1848. The description page on the national library website says that the house was built in 1842, which is wrong. For details, see chapter 6 of 'city of the seas' (reed, 1955).
