The russians are incredibly tough and brave. Nevertheless, they have to give way. The population wants nothing to do with stalin and the communists. Now i'd like to ask you to send me writing paper, envelopes and postcards. Don't pack them too big, though! i can't lug them around with me. Also write to me and tell me what's new at home! now i'd like to close, just stay healthy and don't worry. Many warm greetings and kisses from your hansl. Date: 26 July 1941.
