Friedrich Ludwig Vieth von Goldenau - Maria Theresa of Austria, Queen of Saxony, Friedrich Ludwig von Vieth, circa 1780

Portrait of maria theresa of austria, queen of saxony (1767-1827), wrongly auctioned as a depiction of maria amalia of saxony, duchess of zweibrücken (1757-1831). The inscription "l' archduchesse therese epouse du prince antoine de saxe" with the sitter's identification visible at the bottom appears to be correct when analyzing the model's age, fashion wear and facial features (see below other portraits of maria theresa of austria). Date: circa 1780. Dimensions: height: 10.9 cm (4.2 in); width: 8.4 cm (3.3 in) Oval. Medium: colored pencils, graphite. Collection: Unidentified location.
