During an evening at jungshoved castle queen sophie amalie comes to talk with her house bond king frederik iii and his private secretary christoffer gabel who are dealing with some bad news. The swedes gets help from the traitor ulfeldt and other nations won't help denmark in the war. Queen sophie amalie (1628-1685), king frederik iii of denmark and norway (1609-1670) and christoffer gabel (1617-1673) were real persons but the story is fiction.
