As the king arrived by train, the welcoming gate was set up in the neckarvorstadt directly in front of the eberhardsbrücke in the then nameless street, which was soon given the name karlstraße in honor of the king; the hornung & sinner studio as a pavilion in the upper wöhrdstraße (today uhlandstraße) is visible on the far left edge of the picture.
