This old and narrow alley has already been included in various volumes of this work, both in pictures and in text. The present sheet shows the somewhat winding entrance from the market, on the right in the foreground a section of the house of the 3 romans, formerly also called the shoe house, on the left the furriers' arbor, the guild house of the furriers (its name "arbor" comes from the vestibule supported by pillars that forms the entrance to the house). The house of the lamb, visible between these buildings, with the statue of mary on the corner, has already been illustrated and discussed in volume 2 no. 22 of this work. Date: circa 1906.
