Diego Ortiz de Zúñiga, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, 1751

Posthumous portrait of the aristocrat and historian diego ortiz de zúñiga (1633-1680), who was a knight of the order of santiago and twenty-four of seville. This work is a copy made in 1751 of the original that bartolomé esteban murillo painted around 1653, and comes from the old augustinian school of san acacio, which was later converted into a municipal library, and to which it was donated by the grandson of the historian diego ortiz de zúñiga, called josé ortiz de zúñiga, who was marquis of montefuerte.
