Bispira mariae lo bianco, 1893) (phylum annelida, class polychaeta). Rare form of tube-shaped annelid with a large body, about 10 cm long with a convex dorsal surface, while the ventral surface is almost flat. The gill cirri, about 7 cm long, with bare apex and equipped with a double series of barbules, are 80-90 on each side. Found in a few specimens in the gulf of naples, in posillipo on the seabed known as faraglione, among the rhizomes of posidonia, at a depth of 20-35 meters and in the gajola shoal among the coral reefs, between 35 and 40 metres, it was established as a new species by salvatore lo bianco, conservator at the zoological station of naples, in 1893.
