Eva maria flachséen, née åkerman (1741-1821) depicted in half-length with dark hair under a black hat, wearing a blue-violet dress with a high white lace collar and a white shawl, in the background a landscape view. Signed and dated c f v breda pinxit 1810, oil on canvas mounted on masonite, 71 x 61. 5 cm. Provenance: murbeck foundation, stockholm. Literature: emil hultmark, carl fredrik von breda, stockholm 1915, mentioned in the list of works on page 190, as numbers 407 and 408. Archives: stockholm city archives, murbeck foundation, donation documents with register se/ssa/2269a/f3/3, 1805-1848. From documents regarding s j flachséen's deed of gift and grave in 1836, testament in 1842, the following is recorded; "to murbeck's institution for the education of poor girls, i give. . Two portraits of my beloved parents and one of my late brother, which three portraits are painted by the professor and knight c. F. Von breda. " according to the deed of gift, samuel jacob flachséen donates money to the murbeckska stiftelsen, as well as the portraits of his parents eva maria and jacob flachséen and the portrait of his younger deceased brother (catalog no. 327). According to the list of works compiled by emil hultmark, these portraits are number 407 and 408. Date: 1 January 1810.
