My beloved mother! i want to start my letter by sending you my warmest greetings and a kiss. Thank you very much for your lovely letter, and the letters from poldi, saferl and weber have also arrived. I have been here for the second week now and i am doing very well. I am hardly doing any duty, just swimming, shooting and a bit of sweeping and cleaning. The food is also very good and plentiful. I have now been to see my company commander twice and also to see a lieutenant i knew from before. The transfer to [vienna will probably not be possible but maybe i will get another vacation. ].
