My dear mum! yesterday evening your lovely christmas letter of december 24th arrived. I thought it would be very difficult for you this time. So you were with dad too, and i thought of him too. But you didn't have a tree, it seems? you poor dear mum, this time you were all alone. It was easier for me with your comrades. I cannot understand why you couldn't go anywhere.
