In the painting, christian waagepetersen is seen at his desk, his son fritz at his knee, his wife albertine standing with her daughter louise in her arms. According to information from the family, the son mozart (1813-1885) was a model for the mother, who was pregnant and could not carry the child for that long. About the apartment, the paintings on the walls (by, among others, jens juel) and the furniture, see 'hos hofvinhandleren i store strandstræde', nivaagaard, 1985. The tall glass of water on the table with a live frog acted as a barometer - when the frog crawled up, it was good weather! (cf. Letter from bent waagepetersen of 16 june 1998, file no. 3-344/97). The building at store strandstræde 18 now belongs to the nordic council of ministers. Object Type: painting. Genre: group portrait. Date: 7 April 1830.
