Stamp of burundi (1st republic); 1971; commemorative stamp of the issue "easter 1971"; issue of 6 stamps + 4 blocks à 3 stamp (michel block 48a+b, 49a+b ("a"=perforated, "b"=imperforate, block 49 = airmail); depicted is the stamp bdi michel no. 751a which is shows as central motive a detail of the painting "resurrection of christ" by andrea da (del) castagno (ca. 1421-1457); this fresco with the title "stories of christ's passion" (and this painting is a part of this fresco) was created in 1447 in the style of the italian renaissance and is contemporary located in the inheritance of the former convent and refectory of saint apollonia (founded 1339) in florence (italy).;depicted is the resurrected christ on a fresco holding a stick with a st. George-flag.;unfortunately this stamp was postmarked with a unreadable cto.
