In 1839, professor c. W. Eckersberg from the danish royal academy of arts, insituted a series of summer lectures for a small group of pupils. This is from the 1841 sessions, with the model florentine. She first posed in july, and then in august, taking a different position, as shown in this painting. The students attending were l. A.
