"bijutsu sekai" (the world of art). Picture album series compiled by seitei watanabe introducing the works of well known artists in meiji era such as eisen, taki katei and seitei himself. The series also includes the designs by edo old masters. These designs were transferred to woodblock prints mostly from paintings. The series of 25 volumes was published during 1890-94. Small songbird peeks out from a large lotus leaf and flower. The design was apparently "borrowed" from koson, made by one of artists associated with shima art co. Shima art company's round seal under the artist's signature.
