Royal castle of laeken and its park in 1882. — the royal castle of laeken was built between 1782 and 1784 at the request of the governor general of the austrian netherlands, duke albert of saxe-teschen. Major modifications were undertaken at the beginning of the 20th century. Laeken (dutch: laken), is a former municipality in the north of the brussels-capital region, attached to the city of brussels in 1921. Date: 1880.
