Vollschiff PAULINE, between 1838 and 1844

Full-rigged ship (pink) "pauline". It is a simple portrait of a full-rigged or frigate ship with a simple depiction of the water and not particularly clearly painted rigging. The ship, seen from the port side, is under full sail. The ship's name is legible at the bow, brown stripes run around the black hull, and on deck, next to a large cabin, sailors with round hats stand. The shipping company flag of hh meier & co. (blue with a red rectangle and a white m) flutters from the top of the foremast, a name pennant from the mainmast and the bremen flag aft. [1]. Object Type: painting. Date: between 1838 and 1844.
