Together with the work "russian ambassador at the court of the roman emperor", the painting was exhibited at the world exhibition in paris. The painting probably depicts philip crusius and otto brugman - holstein envoys from the embassy of adam olearius, who arrived to tsar mikhail fedorovich in 1633-1639. Critic v.
