Théobald Michau (1676–1765), Pieter Bout

Théobald Michau (1676–1765), Pieter Bout

Theobald michau was a master of the brussels and antwerp guilds of painters from 1698 and 1710 respectively. He painted landscapes with rich figural staffage in the manner of pieter bout and jan brueghel ii. Works by this talented painter, such as the present compostions are an impressive example of how the artistic traditions of the southern netherlands continued well into the 18th century.
