From a series of probably 14 central panels for the altars in the church of the former dominican monastery in cölln, which joachim ii had consecrated as a burial place and collegiate church. The side panels of these altars no longer exist; designed and conceived by cranach the elder, with his snake signature. However, they were executed by his son and employees of the workshop; the furnishings of halle cathedral probably served as a model; some of the panels are part of the collection of the gemäldegalerie of the staatliche museen zu berlin.
