Marks, inscriptions, hallmarks: label - circular label at the neckline in fluted silk, printed black on gold: "mariano / fortuny / venise". Iconographic description: mythical animal like griffin which repeats itself in mirror with palmette. Historical commentary: we find the pattern in furnishings such as on cushions for example.
