Andromache and Astyanax, Pierre-Paul Prud'hon, between 1813 and 1824

Pierre-paul prud'hon - one of the principal representatives of neoclassicism — was working on this picture in 1814 and planned to sell it to the former empress of france, marie-louise. Left incomplete, the paiting was finished after prud'hon's death by a little known friend and pupil, charles pompée le boulanger de boisfrémont (1773–1838). Object Type: painting.
