The scene presents saint bruno of cologne in the center of the composition pointing towards the snow-capped mountains in the background with his left hand, while in his right he carries a staff. Dressed in the carthusian habit, he is accompanied by seven more carthusians in various positions, but all preparing for the trip. To these are added five more characters, possibly servants, who are in the left area of the composition. The entire group is protected by mountains with bushes and trunks, except for two carthusians located in the background, and silhouetted by the landscape background that reveals two towns in the background and some snow-capped mountains. The white of the habits and the red of the clothing of the servant standing with his back, to the left of the composition, stand out. Object Type: painting. Date: circa 1779.
