Illustration by poul steffensen from the danish novel gjøngehøvdingen by carit etlar which takes place during the dano-swedish war in 1657-1658. Swedish horsemen lead by the evil bodil ebbesdatter, better known as kulsoen and captain manheimer, a german mercenary hired by the swedish army, jumps over a ditch where the gønger has destroyed the bridge.
