Genoese boat in calm, towed by the rowboat. “these buildings have much the same features as the pinques. The mast consists of two topmasts and a mizzen mast, carrying a small topmast, a topsail and a lateen sail set on its antenna. The other sails are square. There are buildings of a higher grade; they are used for racing, and carry up to 22 pieces of cannon” (jean-jérôme baugean). Engraving published in 1826 in the collection of all species of warships and merchant vessels which sail on the ocean and in the mediterranean, drawn from nature and engraved by baugean, but produced before 1819 (date of the author's death).
