The mast consists of two topmasts and a mizzen mast, carrying a small topmast, a topsail and a lateen sail set on its antenna. The other sails are square. There are buildings of a higher grade; they are used for racing, and carry up to 22 pieces of cannon” (jean-jérôme baugean).
