An other source describes this painting as "madonna con bambino e san giovannino" of a raffaello del colle (1490-1566) from the year 1566. For guilio romano which also was called "guilio pippi" are speaking the poses of the both children and the circumstance, that the architectonical backgroud was fivefold overpainted and indicates to the "forum traiano" in rome. Guilo romano (1499-1546) was a master (painter and architect) of the italian mannerism. Together with an other painter with name perani overtook guilio romano the atelier of a raffaelo after the death of raffaelo in 1520 and finished all remained works which were still not completed. Although he was inspired in strong manner by the late works of a raffaelo and a michelangelo, he was also characterized by a free and personal interpretation of the expressed themes. For raffaelino del colle is speaking the faces which are directed to below and the presence of the tuscan influence. He shall have completed this painting in 1566. Well, however that be, this painting is since 1693 in possession of the "galleria borghese" in rome as artwork of the mannerism (inventario no. 320); unfortunately this stamp was postmarked with an unreadable postmark.
