Rue guénégaud opened in 1641, mansart was asked for the construction of the hôtel guénégaud which replaced it in 1648, plays were performed there. Name of conti taken in 1670, when the hotel was transferred to the widow of the prince of conti, anne-marie martinozzi. Château gaillard is home to the brioche puppets.
