The painting portrays fischer's brother erik (1864-1946) with his wife anna (born 1870) and their children albert and astrid. The interior is from anna and erik's home in rigensgade. The lot also consisted of two more portraits, actually the two large oval paintings hanging on the wall, depicting anna's parents, portrayed by fischer in 1907. See "other versions".
