Exemples de bigoudens 1, Auguste Racinet

Examples of headdresses of women from the pont-l'abbé region called "bigoudens": the woman shown on the left wears a lawn bigouden, trimmed with straps tied under the chin and placed on a headband embroidered with silk. Behind, the hair is raised under the headdress. Thus framed by the headdress and its straps, the edge of the headband which surrounds the face recalls the templette from the time of anne of brittany. At the top right, a cotton curler is represented, and at the bottom right, a cotton headdress.
