Portrait of a lady in a red dress, by bernardo zaganelli (1460/1470 – around 1510). The necklace seems to correspond to the description made by duchess eleonora of aragon of the wedding gift sent by ludovico il moro to his betrothed beatrice d'este in 1490: "a beautiful necklace with large pearls bound in gold flowers and a beautiful jewel to attach to said necklace, in which is a beautiful emerald of a large person, and a balasso (ruby) and a pearl in the shape of a but". [1] furthermore, the motif of the vincian knots on the bodice refers to a woman of the sforza house. Unknown date
