Image side of the color lithographed postcard with the consecutive numbering 32 from the publisher heinrich klee, titled "georgstrasse". It shows a section of georgstrasse from the intersection with schillerstrasse looking towards café kröpcke. In the foreground on the left is the former building of the hannoversche bank, where the hanover branch of karstadt will later be built. On the far right of the picture is the building of jc herhold, next to which is the house of louis fuge (fuge's house), the later dragon slayer's house with the georgspassage. Further back on the corner of kleine packhofstrasse, the "court photographer" wilhelm höffert advertises his services, followed by the house at georgstrasse 14, in which "h. Klee", the publisher of the postcard digitized here, has its headquarters and sales rooms. On the next corner behind große packhofstrasse, the fashion store carl rocholl can be recognized with a few letters. The hanover tram on georgstrasse is already electric, as the cars with the numbers 70 and 102' show. There are no cars in the picture yet, instead there are several horse-drawn carriages. The picture side of this card is overwritten in danish on november 10, 1900 with messages to fredrich ewald, as at that time the address sides of postcards were only allowed to contain the address of the recipient by law. Date: circa 1900.
