NH 53969 (16889942697), John James Barralet

On 29 oct 1814, the first steam-powered u. S. Navy warship, fulton, was launched at new york city. Commissioned in june 1816, she carried president james monroe on a day cruise in new york harbor a year later. For her career, she was either laid up or, after 1825, employed as a floating barracks.
