At the 2001 auction, this painting was referred to as sejlskibe i sundet. I baggrunden hveen. (sailing ships in the sound off the island of ven). This is the 2002 title, taken form the charlottenborg exhibition. A problem with the original title might have been that the jetty to the left was too close to the island, for the perspective to be correct. Object Type: painting. Date: 1870.
