José tomás de urmeneta y garcía (santiago de chile, october 8, 1808 - † limache, october 20, 1878) was a chilean politician and industrialist. He was of basque origin. [2] a public man and wealthy industrialist, he was the owner of the famous "pique de tamaya" mines, of the tongoy railway, in coquimbo and the main owner of the santiago gas company. In limache he worked as an industrialist and farmer, while he became known for his philanthropy and help in the formation of san francisco de limache. Unknown date
