Woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. A scene at the otsu station on the tokaido from the kabuki play 'ichidai banashi'. The kabuki actor sawamura sojuro as the bandit leader nippon daemon (left) seated on a rock holding a baton, looking down at a dancing frog in front of him, and onoe kikugoro iii as nakasaina sonja (right) seated on a giant toad and holding a bowl from which a golden dragon has emerged.
