The Chinese sailor Quinquia., Jens Juel, between 1786 and 1789

Contemporary note on the verso: "original von juel / dieser chinese mit namen quinquia wurde 1786 von dem faktor stolle nach kopenhagen gebracht / es gleicht (ihm) ausserordenlich b. Holzförster, k. K. Gesandtschaftpriester ppmm kopenhagen d. 10. Oct. 1789". The text (in german) informs us that quinquia came to denmark with the merchant stolle in 1786 and was still in copenhagen in october 1789.
