Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1941-08-16) letter no. 30 (1941-08-18) next letter (1941-08-23) envelope: front back text [as i already wrote], we had an attack on august 12th. Thankfully i survived it healthy and victorious. Everything is now pressing for a decision, perhaps it will soon be over! then we will probably see each other again. As i can see, you are healthy and everything is ok! that reassures me greatly. When papa writes a few lines, i am always very happy. I know how difficult it is for him. Today i got the package with the gingerbread, it was great! i already have the stationery too. I have wrapped it up, but now i have to write on this paper. Please don’t forget the fizzy powder. Thirst is a terrible plague here. I'm really looking forward to our "bassena". Only now can we see how good the water is. Date: 18 August 1941.
