Aspertini sketch-book (so-called london i): 34th opening left (1898,1123. 3(33) verso) and right-hand page (1898,1123. 3(34) recto) with scene from trajan's column: a battle at a fortress with roman soldiers sheltering from rocks beneath their shields c. 1535 pen and brown ink, over black chalk, on vellum prepared with a green wash.
