Top caption is reversed because vue perspective prints are mirror images - intended to be viewed though a zograscope or similar mirrored and lensed device. Vue perspective prints were made from approximately 1740 to 1820. This image is c. 1750. Hand numbered #70 at the top. On reverse of print is reversed ink stain #69. Paper is hand-made rag.
