I can no longer give you my heart and all my thoughts because you have always had these. But i want to tell you again today, you should know that you are not alone. So please do not be sad on christmas eve, and remember that we have both been given a big christmas present, perhaps the biggest one, that i can spend this christmas evening at home. I even thought that i would be allowed to be at home, unfortunately that was not possible, but we do not want to hang our heads because of that, even though it would have been wonderfully lovely. I will celebrate here with my comrades; this will be lovely too, as they are all as grateful to be here as i am. Your christmas package arrived today, and i thank you very much for it. A comrade took it and will put it under the tree for me. So you see, i am also looking forward to it and am surprised. I would be delighted if you had a little tree too! a tree is a must for christmas, even if it is small. I hope you are off duty and, above all, have some peace and quiet from the planes.
