Portrait miniature of henry brandon, 2nd duke of suffolk (1535-1551), son of charles brandon, 1st duke of suffolk, and catherine willoughby. Miniature by hans holbein the younger, vellum mounted on playing card, 5. 7 cm in diameter. Royal collection at windsor castle. Henry brandon and his brother charles (right) were tutored first by thomas wilson and later, with edward vi, by john cheke. Henry inherited his father's title in 1545. The brothers went on to st john's college, cambridge, but they died of the sweating sickness in 1551.
