25. 50 x 20. 20 cm. Work included in the album collected for the charity sale organized in favor of the inhabitants of the town of salins-les-bains, destroyed by flames on july 27, 1825, held by me petit in paris, at the painter françois-edouard picot, on september 20, 1825. The disaster caused great excitement throughout the country, relayed by the press. The solidarity which was deployed to help the affected families who had lost everything was the measure of this national emotion and this is how a group of 36 young artists made their contribution by offering drawings brought together in a bound album intended to be sold at auction for the benefit of the salins fire victims. A precious testimony of civic as well as artistic solidarity, this album was exhibited at the drawing dealer schroth on rue de la paix and then sold on september 20, 1825 for the sum of 3,000 francs. Date: 1825.
